Army of the Dead Delayed ‘Indefinitely’

Multiple sources have confirmed that the one big ticket film that required FX work in town has actually stalled.  Rumors include casting difficulties and of course the SAG non-strike, non-contract fiasco.

FX Shops are hurting. There has not been a solid long term workload for any project in more than 8 weeks.  Given that the Summer is the time of the year when most shops can’t find good people because they are so busy, that makes one wonder what this Fall/Winter season will be like.

Separate information gained from a very successful shop owner,  says shop owners and personnel better be prepared for another 2 months of dry spell before the action hits.  For artists that have already been out of work since April, this comes as hard news to take.

Most FX artists agree that Iron Man 2 at Legacy Effects (formerly Stan Winston Studio) is going to be the next big game in town to actually have work.  They cannot employ everyone, but they will likely get whomever they hire fairly cheaply.
