Rumors Say a SAG Strike Vote Before Holidays Likely
UPDATE: This rumor has obviously proven to be incorrect. In fact it’s looking like SAG will likely not pass a strike vote authorization following it’s emergency meeting.
Multiple cross-confirmed rumors including someone who is close to SAG leadership say that a SAG strike before the holidays is very likely. According to a source the talks breakdown is “not at all about the new media aspects of the contract anymore” as SAG would have people believe. “It simply comes down to a few who think they deserve more than everybody else” according to the source. More importantly, SAG leadership “could not care less about the below the line workers” that have been some of the hardest hit by this stalemate.
The same source went on to state “if [Alan] Rosenberg wants a strike before the holidays he will figure out how to get one”. Are SAG members really ready to go on strike officially? According to an informal poll of SAG Members it appears they are. Most of SAG’s membership is ready to officially stop work to protest their contract. Meanwhile groups are popping up all over that think SAG should accept the offer and get everyone back to work, if only to renegotiate the stalled areas of the contract at a later time.
Shocking allegations or exactly what you expected?
